Online Education Resources That Kids Will Actually Want to Use

It’s one thing to have to take on the educational responsibility for your kid all of a sudden.

It’s another to realize that you may have to wrestle them to the ground to get them to actually do work at home.

Ah, the joys of parenting, educating and attempting to stay sane during a pandemic.

Here are a few online homeschool resources that may make your job a little easier:

Time4Learning.com – This is one of my favorites because the characters are fun, but the learning is serious. Even kindergarteners can work through the content on their own without much help from parents. The full curriculum goes from K-12th grade.

BeastAcademy.com – This is a super program if you have a kid who loves math. Each level in the program is a year or two ahead of traditional school, but the comic book style digital text and helpful videos make it fun.

OakMeadow.com – This curriculum incorporates a holistic approach to education. You can either work through the material independently or get the assistance of a teacher. This is a great one to try if you’re thinking about sticking with homeschooling.

PowerHomeschool.org – This is a lecture based homeschool platform that works better for older kids. Highlights of this program are the Elementary Engineering and Computer Science courses.

DerekOwens.com – Derek is a great resource for High School Science and Math support. You can start anytime and he has a full syllabus for online students. He and his team grade homework and answer questions promptly.

I haven’t used any of the following resources, but I know others who have enjoyed them.

ABCMouse.com – For ages 2-8

AdventureAcademy.com – For ages 8+

LaurelSprings.com – Online rigorous private school
